Publishing House

The Institute’s publishing house specialises in scholarly books and journals in economics, finance and management, in English and Polish.

Our publishing initiatives are carried out in cooperation with the Polish Economic Society and leading academic institutions from across Europe.

Recognised academic publisher

The Institute of Economic Research is included in the official list of publishers of peer-reviewed scholarly monographs, issued by the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education on 17 December 2019. The Institute is classified as a Level I publisher (80 points) under entry no. 173 and Publisher Identification Number 27300.

Internationally indexed scientific journals

One of the Institute’s flagship activities is the publication of internationally recognised scientific journals indexed in leading bibliographic databases, including Web of Science Core Collection and Scopus.

Oeconomia Copernicana is indexed in the Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI) within the Web of Science Core Collection and Scopus. It has achieved strong international visibility and impact in the field of economics (Q1 in Economics in Web of Science; Q1 in Business and International Management in Scopus and SCImago).

Equilibrium. Quarterly Journal of Economics and Economic Policy is indexed in the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI) within the Web of Science Core Collection and Scopus. It is recognised as an important platform for contemporary economic research (Q1 in Economics in Web of Science; Q1 in Economics, Econometrics and Finance in Scopus and SCImago).

Both journals were evaluated by the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education and included in the official list of scientific journals and peer-reviewed conference proceedings, receiving 100 evaluation points each in the ministerial assessment.

Crossref membership and publication ethics

The Institute of Economic Research is a member of Crossref, the leading international organisation providing scholarly publishing infrastructure and persistent digital identifiers. The Institute’s publications:

  • are available through the Economic Publishing Platform (EPP);
  • are assigned Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs);
  • comply with internationally recognised standards of publication ethics;
  • are screened for text similarity through Crossref Similarity Check, powered by iThenticate; the editorial team assesses the reports and investigates potential concerns in accordance with the publication ethics policy.

The Publishing House adheres to the highest standards of publication ethics and follows the recommendations established by Elsevier and the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Read our publication ethics policy.

Cooperation with national institutions

National Bank of Poland (Narodowy Bank Polski, NBP)

The Institute completed two publishing projects supported by Narodowy Bank Polski under its Economic Education Programme. This cooperation contributed to the publication of research presented at the international conference Contemporary Issues in Economy, including:

  • Contemporary Issues in Economy. Proceedings of the International Conference on Applied Economics;
  • special issues of Equilibrium. Quarterly Journal of Economics and Economic Policy: 2018 Vol. 13(3), 13(4); 2019 Vol. 14(3), 14(4);
  • special issues of Oeconomia Copernicana: 2018 Vol. 9(3), 9(4); 2019 Vol. 10(3), 10(4).

Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education

Two journals published by the Institute received funding under the programme supporting scientific journals run by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Poland.
